Bossin & Saucin Across
My normal 2 week cycle for each hand was cut one week short with my traditional left hand shot. Due to my prior experience I thought it would be more beneficial to me to get extra days with shots I weren't as familiar with and my mentor agreed with me. I also decided to cut out the bounce shot part of the 5 shot tests and do all traditional elevated shots to better compare progress. This week will follow originally stated procedures with a 5 shot test at the end of the week each week, and results will be compared at the end of the 2 weeks. Along with the regular shot tests there are additional informational videos that will be posted explaining other basics of Lacrosse. I hope you enjoy! My mentor it said that noting the experience level I am currently at and the amount of time I spent practicing this week, I am efficiently making progress at an average pace. He said that i do not need to cradle so vigorously transitioning into the shot and that is off-balancing the balls curve. He also critiqued that when shooting, my left hand was positioned too high.

Week 1: Traditional Left Hand ShotThis week my goal is to progress and get more familiar with my traditional left hand shot then I previously was. I am already slightly experienced with this shot form because it's the form I started playing Lacrosse with, which started at the beginning of the summer. This being said and noted my experience, I expect to cut this segment a week short in order to get more time with other less experienced shots. The video below shows my progress from the start of the week to the end of the week. A weekly evaluation of my progress, which is mentor viewed, is typed at below the video. I hope you enjoy! So far, my shot has pretty well developed up to this point. As shown in the video, just from the one week I had been practicing I already have the hang of my fluency and accuracy. Even a little bit of a sidesrm shot is resembled. Which gives me the indication that I have enough experience and any more would just be overkill. So next week we will move on to left hand sidearm shot. Stay Tuned for more!

Caleb WatsonI am a self motivated man who is very interested in LaCrosse. Prior Experience
Prior to this I have only been playing Lacrosse for 2 months and am highly unexperienced. About Lacrosse
In Lacrosse you have a stick you use to "shoot" the ball. There are thousands of in depth ways you can find ways to score. In this project my goal is to get fluent, consistent, and accurate with all 3 basic forms by the end of the 12 weeks. |
